Yeah! At 7pm tonight Ronan's chemo was finished. Now he's being flushed with Mesna - which protects his tummy from the hard chemo - but it gets him running to the w/c almost every 30 minutes to pee! Once this flush is done (on Saturday) we will have the green light to go home (unless he gets a fever or is sick). So keep your fingers and toes crossed!
And we'll be home for Christmas!!!!

Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.
This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

Hi all,
ReplyDeleteWe're going to need to set up RSS feed from the blog so that we can all get these great news updates in real time. This is really good news - even Scout has his toes crossed. Keep eating and drinking Ronan and getting lots of rest so you can get back to SJ for a while.
love to you all
Karen, Dave and Scout
This is the best news of the day! Everything I have that can be crossed is crossed! I can't wait to hug all of you!

ReplyDeleteSince you are finished I would like to know if you have gone to the Titanic Museum. Also I would like to know how you managed it (the Chemo)
Blaise
Hi Blaise - Ronan was pretty sleepy today. He is managing chemo pretty well. He is very popular with the nurses, we have cool music to listen to thanks to you, Fiona, and Zoe, we have Christmas lights in our room, lots of balloons, he has the coolest green hat that his cousin Lydia made and he keeps beating Joe and me at Risk. We haven't been to the Titanic Museum. Have you? We will try and get there when he is feeling less tired. Keep posting, it is nice to hear from you!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful you'll be home for the holidays...great news!
