We woke up rested today and Ronan was able to be unplugged for 4 hours! And tomorrow he will be unplugged for the entire day! Also, we may be getting sent home by the week's end. This was all very exciting news for all of us. We still have to make sure he is drinking enough and that the doctors are comfortable he will be okay, but we might be home for close to 2 weeks before we have to come back for Round 2 of treatments.

Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.
This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

ReplyDeleteWow! Great news. I was just talking to Mom and she mentioned she had been calling Room 619 this morning but no one was answering. I told her that you were probably out for a walk and, well, you were. Have a great day.

Hi folks. Garry, Cameron, Rosita and Joanne are all sending you big hugs from Ottawa. Ronan you are so big since the last time we saw you (I think you were less than 3 years old). I suspect I missed my chance to beat you at chess. I may have had a chance when you were 3. We wish we were there to play some board games with you. We are sending you lots of happy vibes. Xo Love Joanne, Garry, Cameron and Rosita
