Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.

This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

Friday - It's been a long week

Well the past week has been extremely emotional, exhausting and information loaded.
Ronan is feeling nauseous and is being given more drugs for that. We hope his appetite will improve over the weekend. His hemoglobin is low so he is being given blood soon - and this afternoon when that perks him up we will hopefully meander downstairs where there is a library and a gift shop.

We had a nice visit with Lydia this morning (Joe's cousin from Darthmouth) - who left me a book of Sudokus - was that a good guess or did someone tell you how much I like to do them? Thanks!

Right now Ronan is napping, Joe is out for a walk and Malcolm is playing Mario 64 on the DSI. I'm going to rest my eyes for a few moments.

love to you all

  4. Joe, Ali, Ronan, Malcolm - hi from Gymfest. Zeta is at gymnastics, I am pretending to be working but actually I am sending good vibes to Halifax. That chemo stuff is going to be feel yucky for a bit but then it will get better. So hang in there. Love, Steph

  6. We're following intently from way down here in the Big Apple. Our own violinist Ali (Siddall) still faintly remembers playing with Ronan at the big Anniversary bash in 2005 when she was just 2 yr old.
