Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.

This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

Camp Good Time

Ronan and Malcolm are away at camp for 6 nights!! Camp Good Time is a camp for kids who have had cancer. Ronan's counsellor is a survivor and a vegetarian too! Ronan was allowed to bring Malcolm and for the children who don't have siblings, they are encouraged to bring a friend. Joe and I took them to camp yesterday afternoon - the goodbye was hard on all of us after being so close for so long. The boys are in different cabins (for age) but Malcolm has a friend that he met at the IWK and Ronan, I am sure, recognized some familiar faces from the hospital. They were swimming in Grand Lake when we left them and the week looks perfect weather-wise for all the activities they have lined up. Ronan's cabin gets to stay up until 11pm every night so they can go outside and play flashlight tag! I'm sure there will be lots of stories when we see them again. :)
