Ronan's blood counts are finally back - he did get a fever last week and had to be admitted for 48hrs. Cultures from his blood have come back clear. No e.coli this time! No more hospital visits until Friday morning...not going there for 4 days seems like a long time! On Friday morning Ronan has a CT scan so the surgeon and oncologists can have an updated picture before surgery next week.
Last Thursday I picked up Malcolm from orchestra (my first time being there since the beginning of Nov) - it was so nice to see all my students and parents. The music sounds great. Thank you all for your kind words, smiles and prayers.
Patrick - your two boys are adorable!! Tanya, I hope you feel better and all of us can get together soon. Thank you for your gifts. I'm sure you hear this all the time, but Luke looks just like Drew did the last time I saw him. :)
Blaise and Fiona - your package for Ronan and Malcolm arrived yesterday. The jerseys are awesome (Team Ronan). The boys' school is doing winter carnival this week and today was wear-a-jersey-to-school day - perfect timing. Thanks!!
We are now off to get our passport photos taken!

Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.
This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.
