As we begin to prepare for Ronan's surgery I am reminded of the wonderful poem that Clyde Wray wrote for him in November as he was concluding the first round of chemotherapy. Seems Clyde wrote what we all knew about Ronan's strength and courage in the face of this tough fight. I've posted the poem again as the many posts and comments shared on the blog since November have pushed the poem a long, long way down. Enjoy!
Ronan
We collectively wish up on a golden star
that you have the strength of legions
the audacity of a swashbuckling pirate
the power of a superhero
to see you through
so when you grow up
you can ride that golden star
so the world will come to know
the best of you..
we collectively wish for you
the strength of a Kodiak bear
that roams the wilds
doesn’t give-in to shadows doesn’t give-in to fears
is a explorer without a peer..
we collectively hear of your courage
that would put Thor to shame
your courage is known wide and far
if it were possible
in the Hall of Heroes
even Harry Potter would whisper your name
Clyde A. Wray
