Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.

This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

Magic for Ronan

I had the pleasure again earlier this week to receive another message from a young person is SJ moved to action upon hearing Ronan’s cancer news. Camryn Flewelling and friends Victoria Benson and Rachel Ingersoll, are sixth graders at Ecole Millidgeville North School. Camryn knows Ali from having been one of her violin students for 2 years. As the girls said in their message, “We are hoping to help out the family while Ronan is getting treatment for cancer.”
Camryn, Victoria and Rachel have organized a fundraiser featuring a magic show by Bernard the Magician, a performance by the E.M.N.S. string ensemble and a bake sale at EMNS on December 22 from 5:00 to 6:30.

Admission is $2, payable at the door. The Millidgeville Superstore has generously agreed to help out with baked goods for the bake sale. All proceeds will go to Ronan Boyd and his family. Everyone is welcomed to attend this event and the organizers are looking for assistance spreading the word so that they can get lots of kids out to this event!
