Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.

This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

Good Morning

Ronan is sitting up, and is listening to music that his cousins Zoe, Fiona and Blaise picked out and downloaded onto an Ipod shuffle for him. What a great gift.
Tracy, Zoe, Angus, Sam and Colin. Thanks for visiting and picking out such a great gift for Ronan. Ronan has borrowed the "Jolly Trolly" in hopes of beating his cousins at some PS3 games. :)

Also, thanks for the big envelope of letters, and snacks (Doritos!) from Mrs. Thompson and Ronan's classmates and friends!

Angie - thanks for the games - Skip BO and Battleship. So very thoughtful!

Cameron, Cathy and Cate - it was really fun talking on Skype yesterday!

Mama Lydia and Jim - what good company you are for us.

The sun is shining, Ronan's fever is gone...we can feel your prayers and happy thoughts in room 619 during these peaceful moments. Thanks.

  2. The pleasure was all ours. Sorry I kept yelling at the computer. I just think if you're way out there in Halifax that in order to hear me I must yell. Did you hear Cate. "Mom you don't have to yell!" Duncan showed up shortly after. He was sorry he missed the call. Next time! Take care.
