Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.

This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. Room 602 this time!

Our best room yet...we have a dresser this time, Ronan's bed is situated so that his skinny friend doesn't have to manoeuvre around the bed to get to the bathroom and our bed doesn't face the bathroom. Ronan is being hydrated right now to prepare for the chemo - so he'll probably start in the next hour or so.

We met the hematologist today and she invited Ronan down to the lab sometime to look at his blood under the microscope. How is that for a cool science lesson?

Oh and since our last weigh-in on Tuesday, Ronan gained another pound!!
