Well Ronan's bloodwork from this morning just came back - his counts are all very low...but his weight was good today and appetite is great and energy is not bad, so we are hoping to stay away from the hospital this weekend.
You know you visit the hospital a lot when the receptionists in admitting recognize you!
Once Ronan's counts recover next week he is scheduled for a CT scan, a PET, GFR and an ECKO. (I can't complain about the needle I had for bloodwork today!) The results are due in Halifax on Wednesday, Feb. 9th where the team at the IWK hold a multidisciplinary meeting to review the scans. ("The Tumour Club") Then our oncologist team will present us with the results and the plan of action.
Never a dull moment!

Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.
This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

Hey, Ronan, Ali, Joe...
ReplyDeleteWe tell each other the news when anyone reads the blog;
I was as surprised as anyone to hear of the responses from Rawlings! How thrilled you must have been!!!
It is great that you are keeping eating
and putting the pounds on.
Also I think it is amazing that the storms are keeping out of the way of the trips back and forth to Halifax!!!!
I hope you are comfortable through all this and have exciting games.
and win a fair share of them!!
I hope you can see GOD doing stuff
and answering your prayers!!!
Peggy Smith
Praying for Ronan to pass all tests with flying colors as he did in December!! Keeping up with the prayers and happy thoughts every day!! :)
