Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.

This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

Round 3 - Room 616

Halifax. IWK. Room 616. Ronan was admitted this morning at 8:30am. We had an entourage with us today...14 people in our room at one time (all family)+ the not-so-skinny-this-time-friend.
Richard, Helen, Blaise and Fiona drove from Sudbury to see Ronan - Blaise the mobile is awesome and Fiona I'm going to buy some tape tomorrow to get your drawings on the walls - Steph, Bill and Zeta arrived yesterday from Williamstown, MA via Montreal, Jim and Sam from Hampton and Lydia from SJ. We're missing Cameron and family and Karen and Dave for the complete Boyd family reunion! Maybe for Lydia's birthday??

So far, so good!

  1. Hey Ali, Hope everything goes well. Cameron and I are missing our family too. Cate is away in St. Bart's of all places with a friend and Duncan is in London, On with his friends. I just came back from a week at Steph's with 12 people in the house. Sounds like Ronan, you, Joe and Malcolm have plenty of Boyd's to keep you company. Happy New Year and keep posting.
