Ronan had a fever this afternoon, so chances of us coming home this weekend are gone. He is on antibiotics for 48 hours and will likely be monitored after that.
His neutros are way down (white blood cell count) so if anyone is visiting, please hand wash carefully and if you are feeling sick please come when you are feeling better instead!
Ronan is a bleached blonde right now - it looks so cool, but he is still planning to go lime green when he feels better... we will take pictures!
Mail arrived today from Hanna Daltrop in SJ (thanks Hanna and it is so nice to hear from you), Wendy Cornfield from PCS and Wanda, Adam, Dale and John Burke. Thank you all for your lovely letters.
We also had a visit from Bill Neal - bearing books. Not bad - he managed to find one that Ronan hasn't read yet!!
Enjoy the Penny Blacks show at the Blue Olive tonight!

Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.
This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

Hope Ronan is feeling better soon. Can't wait to see his green hair. I enjoy your posts they are always very upbeat, and positive. I hope things continue that way for you. Glad to hear that the note we sent was received.

Ali, so sorry to read about Ronan's fever - hope tomorrow is a better day. Your blog entries are inspiring - such strength and wisdom.
ReplyDeleteHugs and love to you and your wonderful family!!
Bev.
Sorry to hear it was a rough day...only silver lining I'm seeing is thank goodness you were still at the hospital where Ronan could get what he needed quickly. We will pray for a quick bounce back to better numbers all around.
ReplyDeleteWe are looking forward to seeing the hair pictures and to hearing what Joe does next.

Sorry to hear Ronan's not coming home for the weekend. Speaking of pictures, here's the album from the show at the Blue Olive. It was a great time, but we sure missed Ali. http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c147/giggleycraft/We%20are%20fans%20of%20Team%20Ronan/
