It was a tiring day in room 619. Too tiring for Ali to write tonight. Monday's seem to be that way.
The good news is that Ronan's white blood cell count is on the rebound. We can hear the cheering and high-5-ing in Canmore, Ronan!
The bad news - that great, green hair is gone, 'and Ronan's mad', says Mom. Stephanie photoshopped your photo and Dave updated the blog with a new picture of you. What do you think?
Other good news, Ali's sister Marie arrived today from Ottawa and Bob, Teresa and Malcolm have returned from a few days in Saint John.
Watch for an update from Ali tomorrow, everyone. Good night.
Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.
This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

Hi Ronan
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I haven't written sooner. I really hope you get well and back on your feet really soon. I have been doing quite a bit recently such as swimming, piano, Wolf Cubs (Scouts) and lots of other stuff (if I was to name “all” of it, the list would go to infinity). Last weekend I went camping @ Camp Barnard with the Cubs we went on a lot of hikes and little journeys. It was quite rainy but still very fun.
The 22nd is my birthday. It will be an Amazing Race thingamadoodle... I’m really excited.
Last week or so, I was at the beach running along a log. I slipped and landed on... DOG POO. (Hahaha). It stank like crazy until I found a Starbucks and washed my hands (oh, man). And a few more weekends ago I saw two really good-sized humpback whales really close when we were on the beach near my house.

So now it’s my birthday today. It was really fun. I did the Amazing Race thingabobber and we had to solve clues and riddles to get to the next stage. We ran to a lot of places in my neighbourhood such as big grocery store called Thrifty’s, Serious Coffee and a very small playground. On the playground there was a spinny thing we call a vomitron. Luckily nobody barfed. My team beat Ian`s team. It was really fun. I got a lot of presents like Lego, books, a metronome and lots of other things.
School is doing well. My Grade 4 teacher is called Ms. Carrico. She`s awesome because she is really fun. I think the grades in this school are a lot less hard than at Prince Charles School.
It`s snowing here which is very rare. I kind of miss snow. All the kids freak out. They are so excited. Any time it snows they call it a blizzard. The adults are kind of terrified.
Anyways, it`s getting late, I better wrap this up.
Hope you get well soon.
Bye,
Your friend, Tom
