Ronan was born on June 13, 2001 in Edmonton to Joe and Ali. He is a big brother to Malcolm; grandson to Lydia, Teresa and Bob; nephew, cousin and friend to many. A 4th grader at Prince Charles School; musician; music lover; chess champion; Harry Potter fan; bananagram-er; card shark; board gamer, corny joke teller. And cancer fighter.

This blog is intended to ensure that Ronan’s vast support team of family and friends are connected, informed and engaged while he, dad Joe, mom Ali and brother Malcolm help him beat a terrible, scary disease - embryonal sarcoma, a rare childhood liver cancer. So welcome to Ronan’s blog. Sit, read, cry, and vow to fight this fight with Ronan, Malcolm, Ali and Joe. And please leave a few words of encouragement with a Comment.

A Good Day

Ronan doing well today. The doctor decreased his hydro-morph intake from 2ml per hour to 1ml per hour. He is also off antibiotics for now too. This is all good.

We just finished playing "Monopoly Deal" a fun card game - I finally won! And Blokus - a shape strategy game - Malcolm remains unbeaten - Ronan, Joe and I are about equal.

Hugh ate the Doritos - Duane I think it does run in the family - so Ronan ate carrot sticks and pita chips today! He is also looking forward to my famous blueberry pancakes for supper.

We had a great visit with Mama Lydia, Jim, Angie and Hugh. They left about an hour ago to get back to SJ before dark. And I sent them home with some Penny Blacks tickets that I didn't sell if anyone wants them I can get Jim to reserve them for you.

We are having a little afternoon quiet time and then the four of us are heading outside for some afternoon sun.

love to you all

  6. Wanda - Ronan's grandad has a fat cat named George - is this the cat you are talking about?

Tanya - If a cookie has a slightly healthy look to it, I am inclined to eat them for breakfast and not feel guilty :) and sweet woman you know I love sweet dills!

  9. Hi Ali,

We are all praying for Team Ronan! Hang in there, I'm sure the little guy is really tough with a big heart, so everything will work out. Ronan has a lot of people pulling for him.

btw, that Blokus game is a real hit in our house. Boardgames are a great way to spend time with family.

The Kennedys are thinking of you.
